The following tips are very useful before you travel. In fact, most of them are good ideas whether or not you're planning a trip.

Tip #1: Start an exercise regimen several weeks before your trip. Carrying suitcases, prolonged sitting or standing, sleeping in unfamiliar beds, and other activities that you're not accustomed to can aggravate aches and pains. Build your flexibility and stamina gradually -- before you leave. Waling and stretching exercises will help you get ready. You'll probably find it so enjoyable that it will become part of your lifestyle.

Tip #2: Try to get as much sleep as possible before you leave.

Tip #3: Bring sunglasses that deflect 100% of ultraviolet rays. You may also want to bring eye drops for long flights, bright days, and hot/dry environments.

Tip #4: Before you leave, have your feet tested for orthotic inserts in your shoes. Once you have them, your won't believe you ever lived without them! Sports stores also sell insoles for running shoes that can make any shoe more comfortable. Look for a good fit and firm arch supports.
